Parambrata Chatterjee is all set for his fourth directorial ‘
Shonar Pahar
’ which will mark the return of veteran actress
Tanuja Mukherjee
to Bengali cinema after a long gap. She will be seen as
Upama
, an elderly woman in her seventies living alone in a rundown Kolkata house.
Ahead of its release on July 6, here is another interesting poster from the film. Featuring all the lead characters, it mainly focuses on child actor
Srijato
and Tanuja’s funny facial expressions and has already created quite a buzz among the movie buffs.
Jisshu Sengupta has been cast as Upama’s son Soumya in ‘Shonar Pahar’. As per the story, the mother-son relationship is right now a bit strained due to many reasons. One day Soumya’s close friend Rajdeep (played by Parambrata himself) visits Upama along with a seven-year-old boy
Bitlu
(Played by Srijato), and the septuagenarian right away develops a special bond with the child. The narrative explores this unique friendship between the two.
Arunima Ghosh will essay out the role of Jisshu’s wife in this film. That aside, Soumitra Chatterjee plays a pivotal role in the story.
Besides some prominent places of Kolkata, ‘Shonar Pahar’ has been largely shot in the hilly areas of North
Bengal
and Sikkim. The music and background score has been given by eminent composer Neel Dutt.
