Shantilal Mukherjee replaces Tota Roychodhury in Birsa's film
We hear date and money issues were the two reasons behind Tota Roychoudhury's exit from Birsa Dasgupta's next film, starring Yash Dasgupta and Mimi Chakraborty in the lead. Tota was supposed to play the character of a police officer, who is after Guru (Yash), the ganster's life. However, it will now be played by Shantilal Mukherjee. When contacted, Tota said, 'Primarily, there was a massive date problem which simply couldn't be solved.
1x1 polls
The film required 14 days in July. At present, I am doing the lead role in Taranath Tantrick, which is a daily soap and requires 23 days at least. So, I had to make a choice. The serial is my priority as I committed to it first. I realised, that even if I shot for 20 hours a day for my serial, I would not have been able to complete the scenes. As far as the remuneration is concerned, I charge what I charge and that is based on what I think I deserve, given my body of work. I have always been ethical about it and whether it's a seasoned producer or a new investor, I have never deviated from
the figure or the terms and conditions. If the serial that I am working in can pay me as much, I am sure that couldn't have been an issue where a big budget film is concerned.'
