‘Shankar Mudi’: Kaushik Ganguly spills the beans on his character

’ is finally releasing on March 15 and Kaushik Ganguly plays the titular role in this social drama. We all know what an acting powerhouse he is. He left the audience speechless in ‘Bijaya’ which released earlier this year. You can expect another stellar performance in this film as well.

So, who is Shankar Mudi? While giving a peek into his character in the film the actor-director says Shankar Mudi is the reflection of the society.

“I play the character of a local grocery shop owner Shankar. He thinks himself as the local guardian to the kids on the street. He keeps a tab on the happenings in the locality. Not only supplying groceries to the customers, he often hides their inabilities. Many of them don’t have the money while buying things. He keeps a record of all the amount in his cash books and asks the customers to pay whenever they can. Shankar Mudi may not be a typically rich shop owner but he loves to hide the financial constraints of the customers,” reveals Kaushik Ganguly whose latest directorial ‘Nagarkirtan’ continues enjoy a great box office outing since its release on February 22.

‘Shankar Mudi’s ensemble cast includes some of the big names from the industry such as Soumitra Chatterjee, Shantilal Mukherjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Kanchan Mullick, Biswanath Basu, Jisshu Sengupta and others. Director Anjan Dutt has also been cast as a school teacher in the film.
