Shakib Khan is controversy's favourite child

Talking of Bangladeshi talents, Shakib Khan, the actor of Chalbaaz, seems to be the flavour of the season. The hero, who was once dead against both Indo-Bangla joint ventures and Bangladeshi artistes moving over to Tollywood, has done a U-turn like only he can. For, the word ‘impossible’ is not in his dictionary. Shakib, a lover of south cinema, believes in fighting mid-air and bashing up 100 goons at one go, full Rajini ishtyle. He, my friends in Bangladesh tell me, took to the streets before Belaseshe was set for release in the neighbouring country and screamed his lungs out once Jaya Ahsan was roped in for Rajkahini. Though there’s no stopping Shakib, he is also controversy’s favourite child. Only this year, his public spat with wife Apu Biswas made news and the actor apparently also took a dig at senior artistes in Bangladesh. Now, 16 film associations have collectively imposed a lifetime ban on him following his ‘disparaging comments on film associations and senior actor Faruk’. Time for his
