Several celebs from Bengal attend Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival

Bengalis In Hyderabad, a not for profit cultural organisation registered under AP Society Act, has organised the sixth edition of the Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival (HBFF). The festival is on till July 21. The festival has been inaugurated on July 19 by superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni, and actress Amala Akkineni, apart from Bengali filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasguupta at Prasad Labs Preview Theatre,

, in Hyderabad followed by the premier of Urojahaj directed by Buddhadeb. The film Manab Manabi by Subrata Sen was also premiered. The Bengalis In Hyderabad society felicitated Mr Nagarjuna and Mrs Amala during the inaugural ceremony of the festival on July 19 for their achievements and contributions to the world of art, culture & cinema. Amala Akkineni beautifully mentioned the importance of cinema in today's life at the festival. She also quoted that film festivals are much more required than religious festivals as it connects people in terms of art and culture. Several eminent personalities from the Bengali film industry too are in Hyderabad attending the festival. Kamaleshwar Mukherjee, Pratim D Gupta, Indradeep Dasgupta, Bauddhayan Mukherjee, Indranil Ghosh, Saibal Mitra, Basabdutta Chatterjee, Sudeshna Roy, Abhijit Guha, Satarupa Sanyal, Sanjay Nag, Rahul Banerjee and Swastika Mukherjee are all present there. Swastika even inaugurated a lifestyle exhibition, Indus Tale, at the film festival on Friday, July 18.
