Saswata-Rudranil join hands for a new thriller

Director Saptaswa Basu is all set with his upcoming thriller, titled

Pratidwandi

, starring Saswata Chatterjee and Rudranil Ghosh in the lead. The film, a

crime drama

, revolves around a hospital and also features actors Saurav Das, Saayoni Ghosh, Rajdeep Sarkar, Maahi Kar, and Rini Ghosh. This happens to be second Saptaswa’s directorial venture.

Rudranil plays a Mathematics teacher, Sukumar Sen, and apparently has a rivalry with Saswata, who is essaying the role of Dr Bakshi, in the film. Talking about the film, which also had its poster launch recently, director Saptaswa said, “The pivotal characters in Pratidwandi have grey shades and as the title suggests, they are in conflict with each other. The plot is set against a medical backdrop, after murders and kidnappings start taking place in a city on a regular basis. The music of the film is also contemporary, keeping in sync with the backdrop of the story, penned by Raz Dee and Pratik Kundu.”
