Saswata and Biswanath to share the screen in ‘Swachh Bharat’

Jiit Chakraborty whose last film ‘Shesher Golpo’ earned critical acclaims has announced his next directorial titled ‘Swachh Bharat’. The social drama stars Saswata Chatterjee, Biswanath Basu, Sreelekha Mitra, Kharaj Mukherjee, Darshana Banik and others in pivotal roles.

It’s a story about a corrupt doctor (Saswata Chatterjee) and how he changes into an idealistic man and follows the ideals of Gandhiji. Saswata while speaking about the film said whenever we think of Gandhiji we seem to remember him only on the currency notes. The more notes we earn, the happy we all are.

This is the second time Biswanath Basu will be sharing the screen with Saswata Chatterjee after ‘Monchur’ and Biswanath says the script is fantastic and many important things will be pointed out in the film.

The director said: “We can clean a road one day and think our job is done. But that is not the case. We need to work daily to keep the road clean. Similarly a corrupt individual is not born as a corrupt person. Circumstances make him a corrupt person. So we need to pick those issues and clean them from the system.”

The music of the film is by Joy Sarkar. The shooting of ‘Swachh Bharat’will start from January 25 and it will be shot in and around Kolkata.
