Actress Sanghasri Sinha Mitra will soon be seen in a short film titled Ami Diet Korchi, directed by Sujoy Pal. Sanghsri, who was recently seen playing the character of Dolly in the daily soap, Ki Kore Bolbo Tomay, is acting in a short film for the first time. Talking about her character, the actress said, “The short film is a comedy and I play the character of Bulti, who is overweight and really upset that she is not getting married due to her weight issues.
The role of my mother is played by senior actress Manasi Sinha. In the short, it’s shown that my mother too is very worried about my marriage. She wants me to follow a strict diet and also join a yoga class so that I lose weight and marriage proposals come my way. Through the short film, Ami Diet Korchi, we are showing how this society is judgemental towards overweight people and we want to break the myth that being fat means you are ugly.”
The short also stars Moumita Pandit, who is playing Sanghasri’s childhood friend and a fraud yoga trainer. The shooting is underway in the city and will be wrapped up soon.
