Actor-filmmaker Samik Roy Choudhury has completed the shoot of his next project – his third full-length feature film, Mushroom. The filmmaker is really excited about it. It is a psychological murder mystery based on the backdrop of the hills. “The shooting took place at Tagda in
Darjeeling district. The entire process went really smooth but hectic. We got about nine days to finish it and had to use every available moment.
Like my previous works, the story is the protagonist of the film,” Samik added.
The entire team was living in three bungalows and there was not much connection with the outside world. The story of the film is based on the murder of Palash Sengupta, a tourist, visiting a hill station. After the event, one of his close friends – an IPS officer – comes into the picture to investigate and soon the murder mystery turns into a psychological thriller. Samik is playing the character of Palash in the film.
“In the future, I will not act and direct the same project. Though this time I have pulled it off successfully, it was really hectic. I believe acting and directing are two distinct crafts and both should be enjoyed separately,” Samik said.
