has started filming his new Bengali project

and he has already completed five days of the shoot. While senior actor Paran Bandopadhyay will be seen as the lead, the film also stars

and Apratim Chatterjee, among others.

“The story revolves around an elderly man, who accidentally receives a phone call and starts hearing the conversation of a couple, who are in a toxic relationship. This goes on for three days and then a dramatic event changes the entire storyline,” shared Samik. In Bengali, Beline means derailed or wrong number. Samik said that the title captures the essence of the film because the story starts with a wrong number. At present, the shoot is taking place at Rashbehari Avenue in south Kolkata.

Even though there are a few outdoor shots, most parts of the film have been shot indoors, and all the incidents will take place within two rooms. “From this many people have assumed that I have written the script during the lockdown. Actually, the story was written in 2015 and I waited all this while for the perfect opportunity,” Samik added. The film will first appear in different festivals across the world and then the team will decide whether to go for a theatrical release or not.
