Samadarshi Dutta, who plays a pivotal role in Anuraag Pati’s film Prapti (Receipt) is happy that the film received the Hiralal Sen Memorial Award for the Special Jury Award in the Indian Languages’ Films Category at the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival. “The whole team is on cloud nine. When your hard work gets appreciated and recognized it obviously feels good.
KIIF is one of the most prestigious film festivals in India and our film bagging an award here is no mean feat,” the actor said.
The film’s story was penned by Buddhadeb Guha and apart from Samadarshi, it stars
Pratyusha Roslin,
Debdut Ghosh and Ananya Pal Bhattacharya. The story revolves around a couple, Soma and Sunanda, married for almost a year now. Sunanda works in the forest department of Bari, a place in Bihar, so Soma has to stay there. But she can’t forget the love of her life, Bedey da (Samadarshi). She continues to write letters to him but gets no reply. One day, Bedey da unexpectedly comes to Sunanda’s place to meet Soma. Prapti is all about the moments created by these two pure souls that day.
“I must admit that Sravan Bhattacharya, who is only 21, did a stupendous job with the music of the film. It actually added a dimension to the project,” added Samadarshi, who is currently busy directing a project for an OTT platform. “My film Char Deoaler Golpo, which stars Rahul, Basabdutta Chatterjee, Amrita Chatterjee and me, is in post-production now,” he said.
