documentary

Feluda

: 50 Years of Ray's Detective’ which won the National Award last year for Best Debut Film of a Director in Non-feature Film is now an official selection at the

Mumbai International Film Festival

.

The documentary, a tribute to Satyajit Ray's iconic sleuth Feluda, will be a special attraction at the MIFF as the festival will be celebrating Satyajit Ray’s birth centenary. MIFF, which will run from January 28 to February 2, has organized a special section where all Satyajit Ray documentaries will be screened and Sagnik’s film is a part of it.

Though Ray's creation has passed the test of time and successfully captivated the audience, the nearly two-hour documentary had to face financial problems during the making. The documentary after traveling the festival circuit for a year finally released at theatres on June 7 last year. It was screened at Nandan and Priya Cinema.

The film captures the 50 year journey of Feluda, ever since the character first appeared in Bengali Children's magazine, Sandesh, in 1965. It takes audiences across generations in India and abroad, traverse the literary journey, and preserve the heritage for future generations to come.
