Sabyasachi, Swastika, Konkona, Rupam and others feature in protest video

A bunch of actors, including Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Swastika Mukherjee, Konkona Sen Sharma, Nandana Sen, Dhritiman Chatterjee and Tillotama Shome, along with Suman Mukhopadhyay, Rupam Islam and several others are featuring in an anti CAA-NRC-NPR video. The featured artistes were seen reciting a poem, Kagoj Amra Dekhabo Na — a translation of Varun Grover’s Kagaz Nehi Dikhayenge. The video is directed by independent filmmaker Ronny Sen.

“When Varun first recited the poem, he declared that there is no claim of copyright to it and also appealed to use the poem widely. That in itself is a huge message,” said Ronny.

The video is shot by different people in various cities and then edited and mixed in Kolkata. “It has largely been a collective effort. Bikramjit Bose shot Konkona, Tilottoma and Suman in Mumbai. Tanaji Dasgupta coordinated everything in Mumbai. Dipanjan Sarkar shot Nandana in Santiniketan. Swastik Paul and Bitan Basu shot with everyone else in Kolkata. It was ideated by several people, including Karuna Ezara Parikh. Sabyasachi Paul did the sound. Anish Basu mixed and Nikon Basu edited the video,” Ronny said.
