Saayoni Ghosh has worked with Dev for the first time in Leena Gangopadhyay and Saibal Banerjee’s film, Sanjhbati. It revolves around Sulekha (Lily Chakraborty), an old lady who lives alone in her house with her helping hand, Phuli (Paoli) and they share a love-hate relationship with each other. Sulekha’s son, Kunal, lives in London and seldom has time to visit her because of work pressure.
Chandan (Dev) joins as a caretaker for Sulekha. However, things do not bode well for him as he finds himself at loggerheads with Sulekha, who is always cranky. Fuli also tries to boss him around. What follows thereafter is a tale of love and companionship.
“I have a guest appearance in the film. In the past, Leenadi had offered me a lot of roles in her projects, but somehow or the other, it didn’t work out. So, this time, when she offered me this cameo, I couldn’t say no to her,” said the actress. Talking about her character, she said, “I play Dev’s ex-girlfriend and there are shots that will show why the relationship didn’t progress. I shot for three days and it was fun.”How was it working with Dev, we asked her. “Dev is a thorough gentleman. Despite being a big star, he is extremely accommodative with others on the sets. What I liked the most is his rapport with the spot boys. When I was dubbing for the film, everyone said that though we are working together for the first time, the onscreen chemistry between us is electrifying.”
