Given the fact that so many people are suffering due to the ongoing pandemic, actor Rwitobroto Mukherjee roots for a #NoCrackersDiwali this year and welcomes the notice issued by Calcutta High Court on the ban of firecrackers. As we know, the novel coronavirus is a respiratory pathogen, so patients affected by it will have more problems due to polluted air caused by bursting of firecrackers. This year Diwali will be a lot different and I urge everyone to say #NoToCrackers and celebrate the festival with only lights and diyas. Bursting of friecrackers are also extremely harmful for the pets at home, strays on the street and the birds.”
