Utsaber Pare

’. It’s a tribute to Rituparno Ghosh as Abhinandan admits he has been motivated by Rituparno’s masterpiece ‘Utsav’ (2000).

The national award-winning film ‘Utsab’ remains one of the most important films by Rituparno Ghosh which even received Golden Lotus Award for Best Director. On the backdrop of Durga Puja, the film is a nice commentary showing many emotional currents passing among a family and relatives. Some of the industry’s big names like Madhabi Mukherjee, Mamta Sankar and Prosenjit Chatterjee played key roles alongside Rituparna Sengupta. The charming actress excelled in her role as the younger daughter of the family.

Now, Abhinandan’s film revolves around the complex and changing scenarios of modern day relationships in a Bengali family and the misgivings and insecurities that trouble the characters, Dutta explains.

"It’s my tribute to Rituda who was a master in delving so intensely into human relationships. But in ‘Utsaber Pare’ I have weaved my own story," he said.

The family drama has an ensemble cast including Kaushik Sen, Bimal Chakraborty and the talented Rwitobroto Mukherjee among others.
