Rupsha Guha’s new short film has been shot on a phone

Rupsha Guha’s new short film has quite the backstory. The director’s film Ek Shalik or Two Alone is a satire and was shot on a phone. “I developed the idea while on a walk with a friend. It was translated into a short film shot on a phone. The film has gone to four short film festivals, Pinewood Studios and Panama Series, among others. It focuses on busting the myth that seeing one myna can bring bad luck. The film takes a satirical look at society's approach to single people and singlehood in general, and how social norms skew our perspectives. Ek Shalik or Two Alone was made at the spur of the moment. I'm glad that it's being screened in various places, and is still doing the rounds,” said Rupsha.
