Rupanjana Mitra is back from Los Angeles, where she was shooting with
Sandipta Sen and
Anindya Chatterjee for Debapratim Dasgupta’s Indo-American film
titled
Protimimbo. The film revolves around two sisters and Rupanjana she plays the elder one. “Sandipta plays my young sister The film revolves
around
how people lead a mechanical life after settling abroad, but still miss their home. It focuses on a crisis in these two sisters' life.
In the film, my character lives in the US and Sandipta lives in Kolkata. How the two sisters miss each other and how the family reacts to that is what the film is about,” said Rupanjana, who is taking a break from serials at the moment.
The actress is also playing an important character, along with
Saswata Chatterjee, in Raja Sen’s Bhalobasar Golpo. “This film, too, is about two sisters, where I play the elder sister,” the actress said with a smile, adding, “I agreed to do the film because it is directed by Rajada. Saswata and I have acted in a lot of projects in the past and it is indeed a pleasure working with him.”
The actress is also part of E Bhabe e Golpo Hok opposite Joy Sengupta. “The film is directed by Rohan Sengupta, who is 19 years old. But his vision is so clear! The film is about a writer.”
The actress will be in Jhargram during
Durga Puja to attend the 80-year-old puja at her ancestral house. “My puja shopping has begun because I have to send gifts to a lot of people,” the actress signed off.
