Rudranil and Indradeep Das Gupta help slum dwellers of Kolkata post #Cyclone Amphan

Rudranil Ghosh and Indradeep Das Gupta are working hard to stand by people who lost their homes and are without food after Amphan hit the city last Wednesday. “Indradeep, Navin Choukhani, Vinod Bhalla, Sachin Saigal and I wanted to stand by people who live in slum areas of Tollygunge, Jadavpur and Golf Green. There have no roofs above their heads, no food nor drinking water.As it is, they are suffering due to the pandemic and now this. We are trying to reach out to 2,000 people a day. We have been distributing kichuri, medicines and dry food. Srijato, Jisshu (U Sengupta) have joined us. Raj Chakrabarty, Abir Chatterjee and Parambrata Chatterjee have also promised to contribute to our fund. Let us forget what is ‘mine’ and focus on what is ‘ours’. I believe in doing social work without a camera, but this time we had to post pictures on social media so that people are aware and come forward to help us. We went to help them in their localities, keeping social distance in mind. We must increase our immunity, overcome our fear and stand for each other in this time of crisis.
