Riya gets her first award

Riya Sen recently bagged an award for her performance in Rituporno Ghosh���s Noukadubi, dubbed in Hindi as Kashmakash. ���This award came as a surprise because the buzz about the movie had died down long back and also because the nominations had big names like Rituporna Sengupta, Konkona Sen Sharma, Payal and Parno Mitra,��� says Riya. This was her second nomination for this movie and even though she lost out the award in the other nomination, the petite actress isn���t complaining.The fact that this was her debut Bengali movie, and she was awarded for it in Kolkata is what makes this even more special for her. ���I think till date Noukodubi is my best movie,��� she says. Subhash Ghai wanted to venture into regional films and Riya suggested that they should do a Bengali one since she had already done Malyalam, Tamil and Telegu movies. She adds, ���I helped put it all together - Ritupono Ghosh is a family friend, and I had my sister Raima and Prosenjit play the lead roles.��� She signs off, ���This award, my first, is close to me because I really was not expecting it.���
