Aditya Vikram Sengupta has won the Best Director of a debut film award in Venice Days, an independent sidebar at the 71st Venice International Film Festival.
His no-dialogue Bengali film, Labour of Love (Asha Jaoar Majhe), stars Ritwick Chakraborty and Basabdutta Chatterjee in the lead. ���I came to know about the win on Sunday morning. The director, who is in Venice, sent me an email. It's a different film and I loved Aditya's vision.

Once he is back, we'll take a call on the film's release," said Ritwick, who too was supposed to attend the festival. The Best Film award went to One on One by Kim Ki-duk.
