Tollywood actress
Rituparna Sengupta has her hands full. The actress, who is in Mumbai right now, recently shot an important scene with Bollywood actor
Riteish Deshmukh, who is doing a cameo in Kabir Lal’s debut Bengali film, Antardrishti. Talking about her experience, Rituparna said, “Both Riteish and Genelia (Deshmukh) have worked with Kabir Ji before. So, when Kabir Ji requested Riteish to do a cameo in his debut film, he agreed.
Riteish plays my boss in the film. We shot a scene, where Riteish comes in as my boss and we have a brief interaction. He shot for only a day. I’ve worked with Riteish in
David Dhawan’s comedy film Do Not Disturb in 2009. It was nice meeting him after so many years and we had a long chat during the break. As a person, he is extremely down-to-earth. I told him I just love his videos with Genelia on social media. Riteish is aware of all the Bengali films being made in Kolkata and he watches them too. He told me he would love to act in a Bengali film if the script and the story are good.”
But the shoot of Antardrishti was supposed to happen in Dehradun. Why in Mumbai, we ask. “There were some logistics problems due to the pandemic, so we decided to shoot in Mumbai,” said the actress.
The other film that’s keeping Rituparna busy these days is
Veena Bakshi’s Hindi film, Ittar, where she is paired opposite Dipak Tijori.
