As the entertainment world recalls Raju Srivastava’s gifted comic timing and dry wit condolence messages are pouring in for his family since morning. Just like the standup comedian-actor’s friends, fans and colleagues from the industry expressing their grief seasoned actor
Rituparna Sengupta also paid her condolence to Raju Srivastava’s family.
Reacting to the gifted artist’s tragic demise the ‘Bansuri’ actress shared with ETimes, “It’s a sad day for us.
He was not just a standup comedian but a complete artist. The way he used to copy any body language, any kind of mimicry – I think these kinds of artists rarely bless our lives with such incredible craftsmanship. So, it is indeed a huge loss and it’s a void which can’t be filled. People will remember him as not only an average artist Raju Srivastava but he mastered the skills of slipping into any character. He recreated so many performances which I think will be missed. No one had ever expected that he will leave us so soon. It’s a great loss for our Indian film industry.”
Thanking Raju Srivastava for making India laugh she further added, “My condolence to Raju ji’s family at the same time I wish he could have entertained us for few more years. There are a lot of things one can learn from Raju Srivastava and I would love to see those who used to follow him or his students can carry forward his legacy. Raju ji and his performances will stay in our hearts forever.”
Raju Srivastava breathed his last on Wednesday morning at the
All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi after he was admitted on August 10 following a heart attack. He was 58.
Meanwhile, Rituparna will next be seen in Ranjan Ghosh-directed Bengali film 'Mahishasur Marddini' which stars
Parambrata Chattopadhyay and
Saswata Chatterjee alongside Rituparna. She has another film with veteran actor
Victor Banerjee, titled 'Akorik'.
