Rituparna Sengupta, Sohini together in Alikh Sukh

Aparna Sen had cast them together in ���Paromitar Ekdin��� and after 12 long years, directors Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy have roped in Rituparna Sengupta and Sohini Sengupta for their next, ���Alikh Sukh���.
���Both of them are brilliant and ���Alikh Sukh��� demands such strong actors. Moreover, I felt their on-screen camaraderie in ���Paromitar Ekdin��� was marvellous,��� says Shiboprasad.Sohini, who was part of the director duo���s ���Icche���, is upbeat about the venture. ���As a director, Shibu (Shiboprosad) knows how to extract the best out of me. I play an abstract character ��� the inner conscience of a person. It���s both interesting and challenging.���
The actor can���t stop heaping praises on costar Rituparna. ���To me, she is more of a friend than a star. I had no idea about Bengali commercial films when I did ���Paromitar Ekdin���, so I was never in awe of her. In fact, during our first meeting, I kept wondering who this gorgeous lady was! We bonded well during the film���s making and realized it was nothing short of pleasure working with her as she is extremely cooperative. As co-stars, we are in a comfort zone,��� adds Sohini, who has recently donned the director���s hat for a play. ���This is my first. I���ll be directing ���Hrithmajare���, an adaptation of Shakespeare���s As You Like It. The cast includes rank newcomers. But they are all brilliant,��� she says.
So, are there comparisons with father Rudraprasad Sengupta, a famous theatre personality? ���Baba belongs to a different era, so the question of comparison doesn���t arise. Besides acting, I would love to direct more such plays with young actors in future,��� she says succinctly.
