Rituparna-Indraneil to pair up for an offbeat love story?

While her latest film ‘Maayakumari’, directed by Arindam Sil, has received rave reviews Rituparna Sengupta has yet another film lined up. According to reports, the seasoned actress might be seen opposite Indraneil Sengupta in Indrasis Acharya’s next film. Although there hasn’t been any official confirmation about the project it will be an interesting watch since Indrasis and Rituparna’s last film ‘Parcel’ had received critical acclaim as well.Meanwhile, Indraneil is riding high on the success of his last release ‘Hatyapuri’ wherein Sandip Ray introduced him as the new Feluda.
Buzz is strong that this Indrasis directorial will be a joint venture between Kerala and Bengal. Apart from Rituparna and Indraneil in the lead, we might also see Anirban Bhattacharya and Ananya Sengupta in the film. The plot is likely to be a unique love story with loads of twists and turns.
Rituparna also has Nirmal Chakravarty’s directorial debut ‘Datta’ in the pipeline which will release this Bengali New Year. The period drama based on the novel by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay, will feature Rituparna in the lead alongside Joy Sengupta, Devlina Kumar and Saheb Chattopadhyay in prominent characters. ‘Datta’ is a romantic story, influenced by the Victorian notion of ‘romantic love’. It dwells on the growing attachment, despite all odds, between an affluent Brahmo woman and an indigent but brilliant Hindu young man.

On the other hand, up next for Indraneil is debutant director period thriller ‘Parichoy Gupta’ which sees Ritwick Chakraborty, Joy Sengupta, Pradeep Bhattacharya, Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Raunak Bhattacharya playing key roles.
Meanwhile, ‘Niharika’ (In the Mist), the last film of Indrasis Acharya had its World Premiere at Adelaide Film Festival last year. The film was also an official selection at the Hanoi International Film Festival, competing with 11 other films worldwide. ‘Niharika’s Indian premiere took place at the International Film Festival of Kerala.
