The actress confirms she will reprise her role as the lead in Shiboprasad and Nandita Roys film In tinseltown, both friendship and enmity come with an expiry date. So, after all the trouble in paradise,
Rituparna Sengupta and director
Shiboprosad Mukherjee are ready to work together again. The actress confirmed that she would reprise her role in the sequel to the 2012 hit
Muktodhara, which focused on prison reforms and starred
Nigel Akkara himself a reformed prisoner.
Nigel, who had also vowed to shun Tollywood after his talked-about debut, is slated to return for the sequel.
Although the director refused to comment on the film, saying, Im very busy with the post-production of
Ramdhanu. Its not the right time to talk about
Muktodhara 2, Rituparna was more forthcoming about the project. She said, Yes, talks are on for
Muktodhara 2. Shiboprasad will be able to provide more details about the film. Nigel Akkara is also part of it.
As for Nigel, he had an issue with the way prison inmates were portrayed in
Muktodhara and claimed that the film was not as real as it was meant to be. Now, months later, Nigel is back to doing films in Tollywood and south and is likely to be part of
Muktodhara 2 as well.
When CT got in touch with him, however, Nigel said, I will not like to comment on it right now.
Will Muktodhara 2 take off from where the previous film ended, we ask Rituparna. Yes, but from which point in the story Im not too sure. Also, Im not in a position to talk about it now," she said.
But surely all the tiffs between Shiboprasad and Rituparna have taken a backseat? I never had any tiff with Shibu. Im not part of Ramdhanu, but that does not mean I have any problem with him, claimed Rituparna.
The actress, meanwhile, is happy that her film Taan has completed 30 days at the theatres. I am shooting for a comedy titled Pati Parameshwar now. I will start shooting for Tarun Majumdars film soon, the actress signed off.
