Ritu to play Khudiram's sister in film on the martyr

He was one of the youngest revolution aries from Bengal. And though Khudiram Bose has found screen time, limited though, in several films across industries, a Hindi movie will now be made on his life. Main Khudiram Bose Hoon, directed by Bhanu Prakash Jha, stars Rituparna Sengupta as Anurupa Devi, elder sister of the freedom fighter.
Shooting of the film, which will begin in January , features a handful of talented actors.Kanishk Kumar Jain, who is already making the right noises for his role as a young priest in the short film, Hari, where he has to choose between love and his sacred oath, has been signed on to play the martyr. Imran Hasnee, who worked in A Mighty Heart and Slum Dog Millionaire, apart from a host of Hindi films, will essay the character of Amritalal, husband of Anurupa Devi. Roopa Ganguly too has an important part in the movie. Rituparna, who is upbeat about the venture, told us, ���The subject got me excited the first time I heard about it. Also, the film features some very good actors.Working with them is going to be a great learning experience.���
The movie will focus on the life of Khudiram, who at 16, planted bombs near police stations and targeted government officials. He was arrested three years later on charges of conducting serial bombing. He executed the murder of Kingsford, magistrate of Muzaffarpur, known for his harsh sentences on young political workers in Bengal and was consequently sentenced to death.
Main Khudiram Bose Hoon will be shot extensively in Bengal apart from Mirzapur, Allahabad and Varanasi.
