Ritabhari gets candid about her next

Her phone didn’t stop ringing ever since the first poster from the film came out. Ritabhari Chakraborty is thrilled to be a part of ‘Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti’ which marks the directorial debut of Aritra Mukherjee. The pretty actress will be seen opposite Soham Majumder.
“It talks about breaking taboos. The poster had shown the protagonist holding all things related to idol worship in one hand and in the other hand, she is holding a sanitary pad, a painkiller, a hot water bag and other things that a girl needs during her periods.It’s a fun movie and not at all preachy. The film questions why a woman can’t get into the kitchen or thakur ghor when she is having her periods. There are so many age-old myths we are following in this patriarchal society and the film opens the discussion among the audience centering on those beliefs,” explains Ritabhari as she is eagerly waiting for the film to hit the big screens.

Produced by Windows, the film revolves around Shabari (Ritabhari), who is a lecturer and performing artiste. She is into another profession too. When a chance encounter with Vikramaditya (Soham) at a college function leads to a marriage proposal, she clearly tells the would-be groom about her multiple identities. Her words are misinterpreted and Shabari is forced to keep one important part of her life under wraps due to the stark differences between the worlds she belong to, pre and post marriage.
It’s a dramatic comedy that makes one wonder about the outdated rites and rituals and questions the gender imbalance in society.
