The news of iconic filmmaker Basu Chatterjee’s death has left the Bengali film industry in shock.
Basu Chatterjee, respected for his middle-of-the-road films like ‘
Chhoti Si Baat
’ and ‘
Rajnigandha
’ , died in his sleep at his Santacruz residence in Mumbai.
Noted filmmaker
Arindam Sil wrote: “Rest in Peace Basuda #BasuChatterjee. Indian cinema will always remember you for your sensitive movies. Remembering such good adda times spent such long back.”
Music director Jeet Gannguli tweeted: “Sri #BasuChatterjee, The man who has been one of the change makers of Indian cinema, will be alive forever through his stupendous body of work! Rest in Peace Sir.”
