Riingo turns DoP for Hindi film starring Jaya Seal Ghosh
For the first time, director Riingo is working as a cinematographer for a Hindi film directed and written by Mumbai-based director Indira Dhar Mukkherjee. The film, The Green Window, is about family relationships and senior citizes. When asked why he opted to take up the mantle of DoP, Riingo said, “I always do the camerawork for my own projects and for the first time, I am doing it for someone else’s film. The main reason for agreeing to it is that the director (Indira) is a friend and she wanted me to do it. Moreover, Jaya Seal Ghosh, who plays the lead in the film, is also a close friend and she wanted me to be the cinematographer of her comeback film. Lastly, the film speaks about the importance of every family member in life and it will also inspire many senior citizens to look at the brighter side of life So, I had no option but to say yes to the project.Being a director himself, is he facing any problem following the direction? “Not at all. I always believe that the director is the captain of the ship and we have to follow his/her instructions. Indira is extremely open-minded and she is taking all my suggestions, as ultimately, the film matters,” said Rinngo, who is planning to direct a women-centric film this year. The director, who took his first vaccine on April 2, has urged everyone to be careful as the second wave of the pandemic is here. “To remain safe, everyone should wear a mask. No one on our set is allowed in without a mask. And people who are eligible should take the vaccine,” he said.
