Riingo is keeping busy these days with the pre-production of his next Hindi directorial, tentatively titled ‘Black Gold’. The film is based on a real story and has
Shiney Ahuja, Asish Vidyarthi and
Subrat Dutta in the lead.
Sharing some insights about his dream project’s inception, the critically acclaimed director said he came across an interesting newspaper report in 2017 and decided to make his next on this particular subject.
“I read how elderly relatives are being sent into tiger reserves to be killed so that poor families can claim compensation. Such horrifying incidents reportedly took place in
Uttar Pradesh, where elderly people were left in the forest to be mauled to death and the families even dumped their bodies in nearby fields,” explained the seasoned director. The shooting for ‘Black Gold’ will start from August next year.
Meanwhile, Riingo has another Bengali film in the pipeline waiting for its theatrical release. Titled ‘Damini’ it stars Rituparna Sengupta as a top cop fighting a corrupt system.
