Rii is a happy soul now because, according to the actress, she has given up all her vices. “I am happy from within. For the past eight months, I stayed away from all my vices.I look so fresh, my skin is glowing from within! I’m feeling happy about small things in life. Positivity is the keyword for me now,” said the actress, who has gained a lot of popularity as Rongona in the serial, Trinayani, which also stars Gourab Roy Chowdhury and Shruti Das in the lead.
“I am honoured that the director thought I could play Rongona. It is such a beautiful character and the best part is people call me by that name when they see me, be it at the market or a theatre hall. I guess there lies the character’s popularity and as an actor, I could made it believable for the audience. What I like about the serial is that every episode has something new to offer. This spices up the serial,” said the actress.
Elaborating on her character, Rongona, Rii said, “Rongona might come across as a simple girl who is not intelligent, but deep down, she is bold and I like that. She is the mejo bou of the family and how she deals with the politics of the household is something interesting. Rongona is my life now.”
Rii has also played a pivotal role in the film, Teen Kanya, where she plays a housewife. “My character is that of a strong woman and a housewife. At one point, she decides to join theatre. However, she feels, she has to compromise a lot. So, will she compromise on her moralities of life or live independently? That’s what the film is all about,” said Rii, who is also part of a film along with Paayel Sarkar and Saurav Das.
