Actress
Ridhima Ghosh who's all set to marry beau
Gaurav Chakrabarty this winter was recently stumped by
rumours
of her giving up her acting career post
marriage
. The remarks didn't go down well with the actress who posted a strong message on social media, putting all rumours to rest. She wrote, I am here to say, and stop being regressive. I've put in years of hard work to make a career for myself. Why should I give all of it up just because I want to get married to the man I love? I will get married and I will continue to work. None of these rumours can bring me down. The actress was backed by her friends from the industry. Fiance Gaurav came out in her support and wrote, "You're definitely here to say and more power to you."
We love you
Ridhima
and would love to see you more often on the big screen! But we can't help but wonder, why, even today, women are expected to give up work post marriage. Are we at all going forward?
