Riddhi Sen on trolling of Mohammed Shami: It’s a shadow war of personal hatred

The online trolling and abuse of Indian pacer Mohammed Shami after India lost to Pakistan by 10 wickets in the ongoing T20 World Cup has led to an outrage. There’s also a debate whether it was orchestrated by Pakistani social media users in a classic case of how social media is used to create a false narrative.
Like many other true cricket admirers, actor Riddhi Sen is also furious to see how a simple game of cricket exposed again that we can’t take a mere game simply when it takes place between two particular countries.“It doesn’t remain a game anymore, It’s a shadow war of personal hatred from both ends which prompts one side to troll Mohammed Shami calling him a traitor and the other side calls the victory in a game equivalent to a victory of Islam. In 2021, when scientists and environmentalists from all over the world have announced ‘code red’ and said that we have gone way too far in breaking the boundaries which makes our planet sustainable, our activities in the next nine years are going to be crucial in deciding mankind’s fate, we are witnessing unnatural natural calamities worldwide, starting from the Delhi dust storm to the fire of Amazon to extinction of species to Kerela floods to North Bengal landslides to melting polar caps to the death of coral reefs all mounting up to the most horrifying revelation,” shares a worried Riddhi.

The National Award-winning actor also feels our next generation will not be able to go back to a ‘normal’ lifestyle, “A time when increasingly the word ‘new normal ‘ is going to encompass human life, amidst all this a section of human beings are busy spewing a meaningless hatred towards each other over a game of cricket while silently earth is digging a grave or arranging pyres for all of us and the universe is writing an invitation card for our funerals .”
