Riddhi and friend Rajarshi make an animation film during lockdown

Work kept Riddhi Sen busy this lockdown. After completing the final works of his directorial debut Cold Fire, the young actor has created a seven-minute long

animation

film, Thikana (A Day In Time), with his friend, Rajarshi Nag. While the project is written and directed by Riddhi, Rajarshi, a

budding animator

, completed the animation.

Elaborating on the concept, Riddhi told us, “I was intrigued by the work of Gitanjali Rao’s Printed

Rainbow

. During the lockdown the compelling pictures of the displaced migrant labourers finally encouraged me to make the film.” Anindya Chatterjee has composed a song that is performed by

Surangana Bandyopadhyay

. While the song is arranged by Prabuddha Banerjee, Riddhi, penned the lyrics.


Talking about the title of the film, Riddhi explained, “We always want to belong to our roots and that is our address. Be it a war, famine or pandemic, we tend to trace back to our home in any crisis and that is what we strive for. This feeling is universal. Our film talks about that feeling. It also traces the lost childhood of those who are displaced.”
