Ranu Mondal has gifted memory: Sidhu on composing music in her biopic

Sidhu has been busy composing songs for Hrishikesh Mondal’s Miss Ranu Maria – a biopic on Ranu Mondal. The musician has recently recorded a song with Ranu and later shared his experience with us.
“She has little technical knowledge. For example, if I tell her to sing on a certain scale, she will perhaps not understand. However, he has a gifted memory. Throughout the process, I sang to her and she memorised.She also does not follow the written song. When I sing, she remembers. That is how we recorded the song,” Sidhu told us.
Sidhu went to Ranu Mondal’s house to have the initial meetings. Later, he stood in front of her and uttered the lyrics as she recorded her song. “Ranu Mondal gets bouts of mood swings. She refused to enter the recording studio for hours. However, we finally managed to convince her. Eshika Dey, the actress who will be playing Ranu on screen, has managed to make her understand,” the musician told us.
Sidhu is composing two songs in the film. The other song – a solo by Sidhu – is an energetic number.
Owing to her social media popularity, Hrishikesh has decided to make a biopic on the Ranaghat’s online sensations. Eshika has started her homework. According to sources, Eshika spent days with ranu to get an idea of the character she will be playing.
