Rakhee told me hospitality at KIFF is beyond words: Madhabi

I know Rakhee (Gulzar) for a long time, so we discussed everything under the sun when we caught up at the KIFF inaugural ceremony. Whenever I eat pan masala, she gets annoyed and threatens to get me arrested by the police. I always promise her to quit soon but this time when we met she complained that I keep saying the same thing and never change. We also spoke about her latest film, Nirban, and Rakhee told me that I must watch it.Introducing her to Srijit (Mukherji), I told Rakhee that he was earlier like my son and now he has become my father. Rakhee told me that she has been part of many film festivals but KIFF has its own aura and the hospitality here is beyond words. We were also talking about the good old days when she used to live in Ranaghat. Rakhee told me she was like a daughter to Sandhya Roy, who wanted her to become a doctor as she was good in studies but Rakhee wanted to be an actor. With the help of a journalist, she went to Mumbai and that was a major turn in her life. It was lovely catching up with her and I loved the way she made SRK speak Bangla!
