Rajdeep Ghosh, who assists Kaushik Ganguly on his films and has also acted in
Khaad
, is directing a
film
for a television channel. He has earlier done Subho Saradiya with Ritwick Chakraborty and Raima Sen in lead roles and Goopi Gyan with Saswata Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and Ritobroto Mukherjee essaying pivotal characters.
This time, Rajdeep is directing a horror comedy titled
Bancharamer Bagan
Bari. Sudipta Chakraborty, Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, Rubel, Satabdi, Amlan, Shantanu are a part of the cast. It’s about a set of two daughters and their husbands planning to murder their father, and their younger sister coming back and peculiar incidents happening around the Bagan Bari where they go to spend holidays. Elaborating on the story, Rajdeep shared, “The story is about the relationship between a father and a daughter. In an accident, the father loses his wife and his younger daughter goes missing. It is after seven years that the father and the younger daughter unite and the story takes a turn from there. The film will show how the elder daughter and her husband will try to kill their father for his property.” He further added, “Sudipta plays the young daughter and it is an absolute delight to work with her. She is one of the few actors who are technically very sound. Buddhadeb
da plays the role of the father.”
Rajdeep, who has joined the industry in 2004, has been assisting Kaushik since then. “Whatever I have learnt about direction is courtesy Kaushik
da. He is my biggest guiding force. He watched my last two films and suggested changes. We will start work from end of July again,” said Rajdeep.
