Apropos the rising Covid cases in Kolkata and the rest of West Bengal, the release of Raj Chakraborty’s highly anticipated upcoming film ‘Dharmajuddho’ has been postponed again. Director Raj Chakraborty took to his official Twitter handle to announce the same.
By sharing the tweet, Raj Chakraborty penned a heartfelt note that read, “With a heavy heart, we are postponing the release of DHARMAJUDDHO again.

Despite relentless efforts, some situations are beyond our control. Please hold on to your excitement. We promise to release the film theatrically for the impact and message it holds. Till then, stay safe.”

The film ‘Dharmajuddho’ has a battalion of actors that include Ritwick Chakraborty, Subhasree Ganguly, Parno Mittra, and Soham Chakraborty. The film is touted as a political drama and the story is penned down by the writer Padmanabha Dasgupta. The cinematography of the film is done by Soumik Haldar and the music by Indradip Dasgupta.

Initially, the film was billed as a theatrical release scheduled on 20 March 2020, but as the theatres were shut down due to the first wave of the Covid pandemic, the makers rescheduled the release date for 21 January 2022. Raj Chakraborty has previously directed the films 'Habji Gabji', 'Parineeta, 'Shesh Theke Shuru', Tong Ling' and many more.
The State Government has restricted occupancy in cinema halls by 50% in spite of the rising number of Covid cases in West Bengal.
