Raj Chakrabarty was not sure whether his fim Shotru would be able to hit theatres on June 3 as the director faced severe trouble from The Central Board of Film Certification for a track used in the film.Confirming the news, the director said, Yes, the Censor Board had objected to a track used in the film. Whenever Jeet appears on-screen in the film, Om bhur bhuwa swaha...tat savitur varenyam...chharkhar hobe shob...chhotabe shatrur kaal gham... plays in the background.
But the Censor Board had an objection. I had faced the same problem earlier with the Bhojo Gouranga song in Challenge. So, I decided to change the lyrics.
It is now Shree Nara Singham...Jai jai Nara Singham...chharkhar hobe shob...chhotabe shatrur kaal gham... Rupam, who sang the song, re-recorded this portion. In the audio CD, the previous version is there but we have made the change in the movie, so the audience will get to hear the revised version. All these took place just before the release. I was a little jittery whether the film would be able to hit theatres on June 3 or not. But, all is well now, said Raj.
