It was not an easy task for
Raima Sen to play a passionate documentary filmmaker in her Marathi debut ‘Anya’ which was released earlier this month. Although Raima’s portrayal of a Mumbai-based headstrong woman Divya hell-bent on exposing corruption in India, the struggles faced by downtrodden members of the community looked promising the film didn’t impress the audience.
However, the versatile actor says that playing a determinant woman who picks up her pen and pad to interview the suppressed and forgotten will always remain close to her heart. According to Raima, at a time when voicing your unpopular opinion is labeled a crime and you a criminal, this film is bold enough to call a spade a spade and films like these should be made more and more. She also thanked director
Simmy Joseph for giving her such an important role in the social drama.
Speaking about the OTT boom in recent times Raima who recently starred in the web series ‘Mai’ shared that the rise of OTT platforms brought a golden time for actors. She believes that unlike films, OTT comes up with the advantage of completing a story in six-eight hours and each character is important and well defined in a web series that is not focused on star-driven content.
