Rafiath Rashid Mithila all set to make her Tollywood debut

We hear that Rafiath Rashid Mithila will be making her Tollywood debut with director Raajhorshee De’s Maya. It’s a dark film based on William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The film’s cast also includes

Gourav Chakrabarty

, Rahul,

Tnusree Chakraborty

, Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Gourab Chatterjee, Koneenica Banerjee, Ronita Das, Devlina Kumar, Sudiptaa Chakraborty, and others.
The look test of the actors has already been done and the film will go on the floors from July 12. It will be shot in and around Kolkata and its suburbs.

When CT asked Mithila about the project, she said, “I’m not in a position to talk about the film right now, as I’m not supposed to.”
Raajhorshee, however, was comfortable talking about the project. The director, while expressing his happiness of having Mithila on board, said, “When I wrote the script, I had her in my mind to play Maya, the alter ego of

Lady Macbeth

(played by Tnusree). I have seen Mithila’s previous work and while penning the script, I called Srijit (Mukherji) to ask whether I could approach Mithila for a pivotal character in my film. Srijit asked me to go ahead and she really loved the script. We’ll see her in three age groups in Maya and it’s a tough character. But one thing is baffling me. Mithila hasn’t replaced Arpita, who was part of the cast earlier. I have no idea why people are saying that.”
Though Mithila is tight-lipped about this project, we asked her if she would like to be a part of a Srijit Mukherji film. “As an actress, I’d be happy to work with him if I like the script and my character. But personally, I don’t want to get into that space as I’ve seen how he scolds his actors on the sets. I won’t like it if he does that to me,” she said with a laugh.
In Bangladesh, Mithila recently completed shooting for 12 telefilms, one feature film and three shorts. “I was shooting continuously in Dhaka in the past three months. For the first time, I did a commercial film, Amanush, directed by

Anono Mamun

,” she said.
When asked about her daughter, who had minor eye surgery on Tuesday, the actress said, “She’s fine now. Even the bandage has been removed.”
