Raajhorshee De’s upcoming paranormal thriller ‘
Purba Pashchim Dakshin Uttor Asbei
’ is based on Avik Sarkar’s best-selling book ‘Ebong Inquisition’. It has already made quite a lot of buzz among the movie buffs. Now, here’s a piece of good news. The film has received an uncut U/A certificate from the censor board and will release on November 22.
The film has an ensemble cast including Rudraprasad Sengupta, Arpita Chatterjee, Kamaleswar Mukherjee,
Gaurav Chakrabarty, Rajesh Sharma, Padmanava Dasgupta, Bidipta Chakroborty, Anyann Bhowmick. Rajorshi has one more surprise as his third venture will also see India’s first transgender college principal Manabi Bandopadhyay in a pivotal role.
‘Purba Pashchim Dakshin’ mainly tries to break all those superstitions surrounding black magic and witchcraft. People have often generalized the notions over the worship of Goddess Kali and the practice of Tantra in Bengal. Director Raajhorshee De plans to project the entire practice from a different perspective through his film.
Based on the first three stories from ‘Ebong Inquisition’, the thriller will also project the notions of reincarnation. The plot will progress through an eventful train journey, slowly unfolding three interconnected stories.
