Paying tribute to the great master
Satyajit Ray, Raajhorshee De is coming up with his dream project, a family drama that draws inspiration from the title of the Ray classic 'Kanchenjungha'.

’ paying homage to Satyajit Ray. Ray’s ‘Kanchenjungha’, the 1962 Bengali classic, which had the enriched cinematography of his trusted hand Subrata Mitra, was all about a Bengali family vacationing in Darjeeling and had captured the beauty of the hills.
"Since next year is going to be the birth centenary of Satyajit Ray, this film is a direct tribute to the master. Abar Kanchanjhungha’ is a celebration of life.” The director shares with ETimes. He has already wrapped up the North Bengal shooting schedule on Friday.
"It's a complete family film celebrating nostalgia, Bangaliana, Christmas celebrations in the enchanting location of Darjeeling with Kanchenjhungha as a background," De added without divulging much about the story.
‘Abar Kanchanjhungha’ has an ensemble cast including
Kaushik Sen,
Saswata Chatterjee, Tnusree Chakraborty,
Anindya Chatterjee, Rahul Arunoyday Banerjee,
Bidipta Chakraborty and Padmanabha Dasgupta among others. The film will also see singer
Rupankar Bagchi in a key role.
"I will try my best to retain the flavour of ‘Kanchenjungha’ in each and every frame," the director said, while Saswata Chatterjee says he instantly liked the story as the way it has been scripted is great.
