Q plays the Roman card

Q speaks to TOI from Rome on his festival march with Tagore
When in Rome, do as the Romans do. But when the man under the arclights is Q, you���d expect the unexpected. The director, who arrived for the Tasher Deshworld premiere on November 11 at the Rome International Film Festival���s Parco della musica audi, wore quirky on his sleeve. While the director teamed jodhpurs with a tux, Rii did an Angelina Jolie in a side-slit silver gown.
The film is competing in the Cinema XXI section. ���It was very well-received. Even if many didn���t know the context of this Tagore drama, there was a lot of buzz both from the trade and the audience,��� the director told us from Rome.
The director is also happy to have rubbed shoulders with some international cine idols. ���I met Takashi Miike. Though we couldn���t communicate much because of language barriers, I did let him know my admiration for his films,��� said Q. Miike apart, the director also met Larry Clarke and Mike Figgis. ���Their films are in competition with Tasher Desh. When I told them how I love their work, they were taken aback, considering the fact that I come from India.���
Q, who was more of a ���schoolboy��� in front of the masters, is looking forward to meeting more international filmmakers. The results will be out on November 17.
