Director Indrashish Acharya received accolades for his critically acclaimed film ‘Bilu Rakkhosh’ in 2017. The word of mouth publicity helped his first directorial garner a lot of attention. However, he is a bit concerned about the number of shows and timings his second directorial ‘
Pupa
’ has received.
"The show timings that ‘Pupa’ has got are not at all suitable for office-goers and frankly speaking they are my primary audience," said Indrashis.
According to him, the ‘Pupa’ team couldn't afford the large-scale promotions because of the budget restrictions. He still hopes that ‘word of mouth’ can help his film to enter the second week.
Elaborating more on the film, he added, “I think through this film, we have been able to set a trend for realistic films. I want more people to watch the film so that more filmmakers can be inspired to make this kind of films.”

Kamaleshwar Mukherjee in the lead, ‘Pupa’ is a social drama based on the subject of '
euthanasia' or ‘mercy killing’.
