'Pujor gaan' from Sanjhbati releases

To kickstart Puja on melodious note, the lead star-cast of Sanjhbati, including Dev, Lily Chakraborty and Paoli, launched their first pujor gaan, Bishorjon. Composed and written by Anupam Roy, it has been sung by Shaan. The song is packed with festive vibes and aims to transcend the listener’s mind to a world of nostalgia. The song launch was attended by the lead cast of the film alongside director duo, Leena Gangopadhyay and Saibal Banerjee.
The event also commemorated International Day of Older Persons. The members of Saanjhbaati, a caregiving unit for elderly people by Bidhannagar City Police, were also present at the do.
Talking about the song, director Leena Gangopadhyay said, “The release of the song during Durga Puja is apt because the title is Bishorjon and it resonates with Puja. The feedback has been really positive.” Sanjhbati is a relationship drama and will see Dev and Soumitra Chatterjee sharing screen space for the first time. Dev will play the character of a young man from the suburbs who comes to the city and meets a young girl (played by Paoli) amidst a series of unusual circumstances. Lily is the protagonist of the film. Talking about the film, Saibal Banerjee said, “While directing both the veterans, I got to learn a lot. In fact, every day was a learning experience. Dev and Paoli will be seen in totally avatars in the film. It was a lot of fun shooting the song, Bishorjon and I hope it resonates with the listeners.”
