These days,
Pujarni
has a very busy schedule. The actress recently completed shooting for Indurkol, directed by Sumit Das. “I play Debjani, who is a research scholar in this film. She is straightforward and strong-headed. Suddenly, one day,
Debjani
receives a letter from her father’s friend, Bibhash Roy, stating that he is suffering from cancer and that he wishes to make her the heir to his entire property. Debjani boards the next flight and reaches this huge house in Maithon not even knowing Bibhash. After reaching there she finds out that four other people have also received similar letters and each one claims to be Bibhash’s friends, who are here for the same reason. The film takes a turn from there. Is Debjani getting trapped or is she the one behind the entire thing? The
character
of Debjani has a lot of shades and I loved playing it on screen,” said the actress.
The actress is also part of the film #Homecoming, directed by
Soumyajit Majumdar. “I play Bedo-the character of an assistant professor at JNU. She is a typical
north Kolkata
girl — very classy and elegant. The film is a reunion of a theatre group led by a few friends,” informed Pujarni.
Pujarni has also signed another feature film, titled Aminara Bhalo Nei, directed by Ratan Maitra. “It will have an extensive shoot in the Sundarbans and
Murshidabad
. It’s a fantastic story where I play Amina, a tribal girl, the daughter of a sailor. It will be one of the most challenging characters I have played by far. I don’t know how to swim. But I will start taking swimming classes for it,” said the actress.
