Prosenjit Chatterjee has just completed dubbing for Srjit Mukherji’s Kakababu and Kaushik Ganguly’s Kaberi Antardhan. Talking about his experiences, the actor said, “I completed dubbing for both the films but god knows when the two films will see the light of the day. There are so many uncertainties all around. So, I really don’t know when the two films will release. Each day, I pray to God that the situation improves a bit and we get back to our normal lives,” said the actor.
The story of Kaberi Antardhan revolves around the time when Emergency was declared in the country. It is a period piece with an ensemble cast. “The team put in a lot of effort into researching the era when I was dubbing. Srabanti and Ambarish (Bhattacharya) both have done a good job in the film,” said the actor, who is spending a lot of time over his directorial project. “I will start directing next year. It is based on a historical novel. So, I am spending a lot of time on the script and pre-production,” said Prosenjit.
Buzz is that the actor will be part of Sayantan Ghoshal’s next film on criminal advocate PK Basu, a fictional detective character created by Bengali writer Narayan Sanyal. “As I said, films which are ready to release are on hold, forget starting new films now. Yes, talks are on with Sayantan, but it is too early to comment on it. Let the situation improve. I am not signing any new projects at this moment and concentrating more on my directorial venture,” said Prosenjit.
The actor is happy that Calcutta High Court has banned the use of firecrackers in West Bengal on Diwali, Kali Puja, and Chatt Puja in view of the coronavirus pandemic that has gripped the world. “This will control air pollution, which is hazardous for COVID-19 patients and those who have recovered from it. The sound and air pollution are dangerous for us and animals too. The government had appealed to people to refrain from burning firecrackers, so we should abide by it for a better tomorrow. Let this Diwali be of lights and a #NoCrackersDIwali,” said the actor.
