Prosenjit Chatterjee’s made his celluloid debut as a child actor in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s ‘Chotto Jigyasa’ way back in 1968, for which he won the Bengali Film Journalist’s Association – Most Outstanding Work of the Year Award.
Interestingly he was cast in this film as ‘Bumba’ which is his pet name and also his father Biswajit Chatterjee played the reel-life father to Bumba in it. What started with ‘Chotto Jigyasa’ later became a fairy tale-like success story.

He is still the most popular figure in Bengali cinema even after three decades since his full-fledged debut.
The celebrated actor recently took to his Twitter handle to share a throwback picture from the sets of ‘Chotto Jigyasa’. The black and white photo shows little Bumba in a cute police uniform posing for the camera.
